Everyone knows the show CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) which features various characters including Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle which are an on screen couple. William Petersen definitely does a great job as Gil Grissom for sure. All of that aside, the Las Vegas crime scene investigators were hard at work on another episode of CSI but there was something unique about this one. The particular episode of CSI that is being mentioned had included absinthe in it.
Test Results
Greg (one of the main lab workers at the time) had completed the tox panel and there was enough amounts of thujone to confirm a positive result for thujone. Keep in mind that thujone is the main chemical which is effective in absinthe. This lead to a conversation with various CSI’s including Warrick who popped the question of the legality of absinthe. Greg explained the ban (for the states) which occurred in 1912 and how it is considered to make you go insane. The episode promptly moved back to figuring out how the deceased would have gotten intoxicated from absinthe and where she had consumed it at.
This may have only been an episode of CSI where it displayed a short scene which included absinthe but it does show a lot of things. Just from this scene, it shows that even the shows which attempt to be factually educated will believe in various legendary tales which pass around. There has not been a lot of proof that absinthe can make you go crazy but a lot of people are repetitively still saying that it will make you go insane. There are many films and TV series which depict the effects of drinking absinthe. This show is so popular that it is worth mentioning even though it was just a brief display of a victim’s tox panel reporting positive for thujone. |
