An absinthe fountain is something which became rather common in many bars and bistros across various countries when absinthe was at its climax of popularity. Absinthe fountains were used so that multiple people can prepare, serve, and enjoy their absinthe all at once from using the same station area.
The Fountain
The fountain consists of a very big glass container that stands tall on top of a table which is held up with anywhere from 2 to 6 taps per fountain. This allows anywhere from 2 to 6 people to have a miniature party and drink together at one area. The absinthe fountain will allow a group of people to make their absinthe at the same time using the absinthe fountain. The absinthe fountain would slowly drip water out of the taps but doesn’t need as much focus as a carafe would. The carafe may have been a simpler method of adding water into the absinthe but it was just a cheaper and less efficient solution of doing so.
The absinth fountain has become popular over the years and is continued to be used every day by a lot of regular absinthe drinkers even in the 21st century. A lot of people are enthusiastic about absinthe paraphernalia and will actually buy vintage items like old absinthe fountains. Some of the older absinth fountains could sell for a lot of money because they are so hard to get your hands onto and are definitely antiques of their own kind.
