The show ‘Hex’ was a TV series that was not on the air for very long. It debuted in 2004 and lasted until 2005. The show was cancelled in 2006 but there were a lot of people that were fans of it even though it got cancelled. There was the use of absinthe which was even added into this TV series as well. It was kind of depressing that the show got cancelled because the first season was alright but the show was really showing some promise in the second season. However, the addition of absinthe in one of the episodes was rather intriguing.
Absinthe in the School
Ella (played by Laura Pyper) had offered to share a drink of absinthe with some of the cool kids at the school she just joined. It was an attempt to get on the good side of others around her because she didn’t quite fit in that well. She also mentioned to Leon (played by Jamie Davis) in a very weird manner that absinthe will cause your brain to rot completely.
No matter how successful this TV series really was, it is a display of how absinthe has become legendary status in the liquor business. Absinthe has been described as dangerous and deadly when consumed by some and this concept is regularly displayed in films and on TV. Various movies (like From Hell and Van Helsing) and TV shows (like Hex and Coronation Street) have incorporated the green fairy in their scenes. Adding absinthe into a movie or TV show seems to have the ability to hold that extra little touch to enhance a serious and intense moment. |
