In the movie Moulin Rouge, Ewin McGregor played the role of a guy named Christian. In the movie, he had drunk some absinthe with some of his friends that are artists. As this movie took place a long time ago, one of those friends is a rather famous artist who was known for being influenced by the green fairy. One of his artist friends that he would drink the absinthe with was Toulouse Lautrec. Shortly after drinking the absinthe, the green fairy would show up.

The beautiful, attractive, and sexy Kylie Minogue played the part of the green fairy in Moulin Rouge. The green fairy (Kylie Minogue) would become part of Christian’s (Ewan McGregor’s) hallucinations. She would start to multiply in front of him and get all blurry. The whole saying of how drinking absinthe will bring the green fairy was no longer just a saying but rather real and right in front of him.
While the whole events of this movie may be fictional, it does depict how drinking absinthe in large amounts a long time ago (when the thujone content level was not limited) could really give you a vivid imagination. This movie perfectly depicted how life was in the late 19th century and early 20th century when absinthe was something that was drunk by everyone all the time. |
