Picasso was definitely a man with the brain of a genius. His artwork was like none other and he presented many masterpieces. Even one original painting which Picasso had made could see a large sum these days because of how successful and talented he was. His name will never be forgotten and he is a role model to many aspiring artists. However, every man has a reason to paint and every man has an influence to do it too. So what was the secret which made Picasso perform at his best?
Absinthe
Maybe Picasso was so successful on the canvas because of drinking absinthe. It was obvious that Picasso was inspired and influenced by absinthe regularly. The fact that Picasso used to drink absinthe on a regular basis as well is something which won’t go silent. A lot of brilliant minds regularly enjoyed a bottle of absinthe back in the 19th century and early 20th century and he was not the only big name to do so.
Influence
Absinthe really did influence Picasso to create a few masterpieces. Judging on his artwork, it may seem that he was probably in love with the drink as well. He created two paintings which were based on the drink – “Woman Drinking Absinthe” (made in 1901) and “Bottle of Pernod and Glass” (made in1912) but that was not all. Picasso also created “Absinthe Glass” (made in 1991) which was a sculpture of a glass of absinthe.
As you can see, it was rather obvious that Picasso had strong feelings for absinthe and was probably addicted to the drink as well. It regularly inspired his brilliant masterpieces and probably could have been the reason why he could clear his mind so often to sit down and paint.
