There are a lot of mixtures that can be made with absinthe. There are probably hundreds of different combinations that you could make which would taste delicious. Out of those absinthe recipes, some really stick out even though they are really simple to make, because they taste so good.
Diluted with Water
Just mixing absynthe with ice water and diluting the absinthe in water can make it taste really good. While it may seem that it would just weaken the potency of the absinthe, it actually makes it taste better.
Champagne
Using champagne as a mixture with absinth can also give you a great taste. There are alternatives to this in Italy though. Stuff like Prosecco and Franciacorta are popularly used as mixers with absinthe in Italy.
Beer
Just a small amount of absinthe put into beer is rather commonly done in Italy. It adds a little flavour to the beer that is just exceptional.
Red Bull
If the right measurement of absinthe is mixed in a glass with an ice cube and some Red Bull (energy drink) it can turn out to taste really good.
The Green Fairy
This is one mixture which has become popular for the name and many people enjoy the Green Fairy regularly. This drink is made up of a combination of absinthe, water, fresh lemon juice, and a small amount of egg whites. If done in proper proportion, the end result is exquisite. |
